Snow Day Tour

A day trip with FreerideNZ will have you on the edge of your seat from the minute you step into the truck.  Depending on you or your group’s goals, our guides will tailor a unique trip to suit your ability and preference for snow and terrain.  Based on your preferences, snow pack and weather we will travel to one of the resorts within our day guiding zone:

• Treble Cone
• Cardrona
• The Remarkables
• Coronet Peak
• Ohau
• Round Hill
• Dobson
• Snowpark
• The Club Fields

Our guides will sort passes and provide you with a day plan as to what terrain you will be riding and any other pertinent information. If you are renting equipment we can assist you with gear selection to suit conditions, we also carry a full stock of tuning equipment and wax to ensure you gear works well for you all day. If riding backcountry is one of the options for the day, you will be briefed with an avalanche safety talk and shown how to operate a beacon. Whether you have a family group or solo we will kit you out with walkie talkies to allow easy communication with our guides and your team throughout the day. 

After all the logistics are sorted it is all about your snow experience. Our guides will take you down the best warm up runs and check specific areas for snow quality.  From here you may find yourself making solo powder turns for the rest of the day, hiking across Southern Alps ridge tops, or just having a hassle free day with the family riding terrain that our guides know and ride on a weekly basis. You will be confident that on any given day you will be riding the best snow and terrain the area has to offer.

A lunch break will give you a chance to rest your legs, hydrate and discuss options for the rest of the day.  The afternoon will be spent much like the morning, but after your experience on the hill, you will be better suited to offer your opinion as to what terrain you want to ride and our guides will be happy to lead you there. 

After a cold beer and/or other refreshments at the end of the day you will be happy to pile into the FreerideNZ truck and relax as your guide navigates the mountain roads back to home base. You will be dropped off at your accommodation in the evening and hopefully there is a spa there to relax in!
