Downhill

This one is for the real down hill junkies. Starting at 1500 + meter after a shuttle up, there is only one way to go - fantastic down hilling on a purpose built mountain bike track. This track was built by mountain bikers for mountain bikers; features include road gaps, nemours jumps, huge berms, slick rock sections and high speed dual single track.
What's even better is that you get to do this 3-4 times, so by the last ride down you will have mastered all the obstacles in your path! Did we mention there is spectalur views the whole way down! This ride is not to be taken light heartedly and is recommended for intermediate to advanced riders.

  • To bring: Riding clothes (can be hired), suitable footwear, windproof/waterproof jacket,polypropoline (seasonal), sunscreen, sunglasses, camera!
  • A groupsize of minimum of 4 riders are required. Please contact us if you have a group smaller than 4 and we'll try and combine your trip with some other riders.

Bikes & Gear

The gravity assisted DH rides include dual suspension commencal mountain bikes. These are the top of the line 6inch of travel in the front and rear with hydraulic brakes. Freeride NZ recommends body armour to be worn while riding. Don't have your own? Freeride NZ provides the following protection 2007 sixsixone full face helmets, knee/shin pads, elbow pads, giro open face helmets and dakine mountain bike gloves. Please contact us to find out more. We are more than happy for you to bring your own bike and equipment if it's of a high standard and in good condition
