8 Day Itinary

Day 1

Meet in Queenstown (pre arranged location) at 8 am. We travel to Dirt Park NZ which is the country's newest MTB slope style park. The park is loaded with a mixture of timber structures, dirt jumps, massive berms and a purpose built 5 km DH track. We will spend the evening by Lake Wanaka approximately 1 hours drive North West of Queenstown.

Day 2

It's heli-bike time! By getting a chopper to give us all the gravity assistance you could need its got to be all down hill from here. We will spend our second evening in Wanaka.

Day 3

Our travelling begins in the morning to Alexandra. Imagine - great wide open tussock land with barely even a single track to follow - this is any freerider's paradise! Enjoy lunch in high alpine country! There is an optional jumping session in the afternoon or more fantastic freeride single track riding. We will make our way to Naseby in the evening, approximately two hours drive.

Day 4

Start the day with a ride. Naseby was recently discovered by the Canadian TV series 'Drop In' during the summer of 2004/05 . Since then people have been fizzing on this mountain biking heaven. After a day's riding we will camp the night in Oamaru, approximately two hours east.

Day 5

Oamaru offers a coastal ride like no other, with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean just meters away from the network of freeride mountain biking trails. We finish the day's riding off with a locally brewed ale/wine from the Criterion Hotel. We camp the night at Campbell's Bay, 30 minutes drive south of Oamaru.

Day 6

After a relaxing night camping at Campbell's Bay its time to get in the van and head south to Dunedin, approximately one hour's drive. There is an unlimited supply of trail riding found here with a variety to suit everyone. We lodge the night in Dunedin.

Day 7

Dunedin is renowned for its surfing and is a very popular during the summer period. Freeride NZ gives you the opportunity to rest those tired biking legs for some surfing lessons by the Esplanade Surf School. These lessons are taught by fully qualified instructors. Boards and wet suits are provided. Alternatively we can continue riding new mountain bike trails around Dunedin. We lodge a second night in Dunedin.

Day 8

We begin our journey back to Central Otago. Returning to Queenstown. Today's ride is a fantastic way to end our biking adventure. We hook up with VERTIGO as guest guides. A gondola ride above Queenstown will be our gravity assistance for the day. There are breath taking views of Lake Wakatipu and surrounding mountains from the gondola. Once at the top we descend down one of the best voted tracks in the country (Classic NZ MTB Rides) - you get to do it twice! We descend the 300m elevation on 100% DH single track. This downhill track is built by riders for riders!!

As this tour is so flexible please contact us for a days riding to be adopted here and there. Eg. Your Dirt Park NZ bike ride could be exchanged for a ½ day Wanaka adventure.
