Location
Freeride NZ Ltd is based in Wanaka, Aoteoroa. This popular holiday destination is visited by New Zealand holiday makers and many international tourists alike.
Visitors come to Wanaka for the adventure activities and magnificent natural setting. In the winter the town thrives on skiers and snow boarders that come from all over the world to ride Wanaka's local mountains. The same ski mountains now open in the summer for mountain biking with chair lift access. During the summer month's people flock to Wanaka for the weather, scenery and endless outdoor activities.
A short walk can be rewarded with panoramic views of Lake Wanaka, Southern Alps and the Mt Aspiring National Park. The town itself has plenty of points of interest, including numerous shops, wineries and stylish cafes to explore. There is always a warming atmosphere and relaxed pace about town.
A large part of Wanaka's mountain biking revolves around the "plantation" located only a bike ride distance from the Wanaka town ship its self. These trails have been built by mountain bikers over the last ten years and many of the original trails are still readily used today. Wanaka is right up there with the latest developments in mountain biking with features including a giant timber teeter totter, dual slalom track, jumps, drops and of course world class single track riding.
Freeride NZ's local guides can answer any questions you may have on the
geology and history of this stunning area around Wanaka. Guides even give
a knowledgeable briefing of Wanaka during every Wanaka mountain bike day
trip.
