About Freeride NZ

Freeride NZ Ltd is New Zealand owned and operated.

Freeride NZ Ltd is a unique guiding company located in the heart of the New Zealand freeriding scene. Based in Wanaka, Aotearoa we are surrounded by the spectacular surroundings and the world class mountain biking of Central Otago.

Freeride NZ was founded by enthusiastic mountain biker Dan McMullan. Inspired while riding overseas during a similar guided experience, Dan decided to undertake the challenge of initiating a New Zealand owned guiding company specializing in freeride/dowhill multi-day adventures. His dream, to give riders a unique riding experience not only helping them better their riding but have an unforgettable time, see a truly special part of the world in what we think is the best way possible, on a bike.

Freeride NZ is not just about freeride and down hill riding. As well as specializing in freeride/downhill multi day adventures we also offer a wide range of day trips in and around Wanaka. These day trips vary in technicality, terrain, and biking style (Check out ride options). We find the trail that best suits you, the rider. Our mission statement is that everyone leaves a guided adventure with a smile.

Tim Binks joined the Freeride NZ team during the 2006 summer season. The former graduate of Auckland University and Otago University in the position of finical director and is a crucial part of Freeride NZ working as plush as possible.

For Dan and Tim, riding is a part of life. We currently compete in local races and the NZ nationals and thoroughly enjoy meeting fellow racers and bikers alike. Having both extensively traveled adventure capitals of the world we know what it is like to be looking for adventure, and have designed Freeride NZ to cater for all levels of adventure seekers
